Survey of Law Firm Use of Core Competencies and Benchmarks

In July 2009 the NALP Foundation conducted a survey in partnership with the Professional Development Consortium to gauge law firm interest in and progress toward the use of core competencies, benchmarks, various compensation approaches, evaluations, and professional development initiatives.

The reports based on findings from this study provide benchmark data on various aspects of this movement and the related issues.  Information includes law firms' use or anticipated use of core competencies and benchmarks in various aspects of associate talent management and current structures, and any anticipated changes surrounding associate base and bonus compensations and advancement models.
