For more than 20 years, the NALP Foundation has been providing the industry with groundbreaking research and benchmarking data on legal careers and the ever-evolving practice of law. This important project was envisioned and designed by the NALP Foundation and a group of law firm partners, general counsel and bar association representatives directly involved in conflicts administration and oversight, ethics and risk management.
Over the next few weeks, will be collecting information from law firms throughout the US and Canada through a survey that is designed to obtain information on the conflicts of interest checking process and the challenges around conflicts as they pertain to hiring, development of new business and the retention of existing legal work. A similar survey will be sent to corporate legal departments. Our goal is to highlight the challenges faced by law firms and their clients regarding conflicts and to provide both quantitative and qualitative data and best practices for the industry.
